Grace + Brett | Jesuit & Nova 535

It was so amazing working with Grace and Brett to help plan their big day! They were the sweetest couple and everything came together so beautifully. Here’s what they had to say about their wedding day…

How long have you and your spouse been together?

4 years

How did you meet your spouse?

Brett and I met through mutual friends in college at UF. We had crossed paths various times but really hit it off one night at a bar with some of our best friends.

How did they pop the question?

Brett and I went on a trip to St. Augustine to see the Christmas lights in December of 2021. He proposed in our Airbnb after we walked on the beach. We went to dinner just the two of us after he proposed and then called our friends and family to share the news!

What was your wedding style?

Romantic/ Elegant

When it came to planning your wedding, what was most important to you?

Aside from getting married at the end of the day, Brett and I were so excited to plan a day where our family and friends would be a part of our wedding. We are so fortunate to have an amazing support system so having everyone there was really special. It was also really special that we got married at the chapel at Jesuit. Brett went to school there and was thrilled to have Father Hermes marry us as they’ve been close for many years.

What was the best part of your wedding day?

Brett’s favorite part of the day was when the church doors swung open and I started walking down the aisle with my dad. We didn’t do a first look so it was a really emotional moment when we finally got to see each other and knew we were finally getting married!! I don’t think I can pinpoint my favorite moment but I’m so grateful for all of the tiny moments I had with so many people. From reading the letter Brett wrote me while I was getting ready, to having my mom and grandma help me into my dress, and walking down the aisle with my Dad, and then marrying my person- it was the best day ever.

What made you choose Est. With Love?

Our wedding day had a lot of movement and we were hoping to find someone to help piece together all of the moving parts we had. I spoke with Kelsey on the phone and felt so comfortable and reassured that she would help Brett and I’s day come together beautifully. She was so personable but so efficient, I’m so grateful we had her there to help with our day!

If you could provide a tip to another couple planning their wedding, what would it be?

You spend so much time planning every minute of this day, it’s important to remember the end goal of marrying your person when that day actually arrives. There may be hiccups in plans but you’ll look back and laugh about them. It’s hard not to, but we would encourage you to not sweat the small stuff because at the end of the day- it’s you and your spouse’s day that you’ll cherish forever.

Where did you say YES to the dress?

I bought my dress at a boutique up in Tallahassee called White Weddings!

Groom/Groomsmen attire- where were they purchases/ rented from?

Groom: Indochino, purchased at Nordstrom. Groomsmen rented from The Black Tux

When it came to your venue selection, why did you choose to get married there?

We chose to have our ceremony at Jesuit because Brett went to high school there and the priest he is closest to would be able to marry us there. The chapel is also absolutely stunning!! We chose Nova for our reception space because we loved the string lights and all of the brick inside. I personally fell in love with the courtyard and all of the bamboo. We also felt so confident after speaking with the team there that we would be well taken care of during our reception and I’m so glad we chose it!
